The fresco workshop is adapted for school students, a unique and original interpretation of the cultural heritage of medieval wall painting in Croatia.
The educational and creative workshop is led by fresco painter, art professor Hari Vidović, dressed as a medieval painter.
The workshop consists of a tour and presentation of medieval frescoes in the church of St. Elysee from the 13th century and frescoes from the 16th century in the church of St. Roch, the work of master Antun from Istrian Padova. This is followed by the practical work of creating your own fresco in the House of Frescoes in Draguć, where each participant will prepare lime plaster "arriccio / intonaco" and lay it on a clay tile that is more than 200 years old. Then draw a sketch on pausira paper and transfer it to a freshly plastered and smoothed surface.
With the help of a painter, everyone will paint the agreed motif in the fresco technique with natural pigments, just as the old medieval fresco painters did. The motive of the workshop is the painting of the Glagolitic initial of one's name based on the model of medieval decorated initials.
Upon completion, each participant becomes the owner of his fresco and takes it with him as an original and unique traditional souvenir.
