Gather your loved ones and embark on a unique journey in an old-timer "Volkswagen bus T3" and get to know the traditions of northern Istria. You will see the beautiful medieval town of Roč, known as the center of the Glagolitic script and the smallest town in the world, Hum. You will enjoy a traditional lunch with a local drink in a romantic setting. You will get to know the old frescoes and the Glagolitic alphabet and truffle hunting dogs in an attractive truffle hunt.

In the north of Istria, small towns enchant us with their beauty and rich history, and the picturesque nature hides expensive and rare prized truffles. Beautiful frescoes and Glagolitic graffiti can be found in Roč, once the medieval center of Croatian Glagolitic literacy, and Hum, which we call the "smallest town in the world". These two small towns are connected by a unique Glagolitic Alley built as a memorial to Glagolitic and Glagolitic culture. In addition to numerous traditional and cultural facilities, here we find one of the best restaurants with traditional cuisine and autochthonous dishes in a romantic setting. „EXPLORE ISTRIA IN CLASSIC VAN TOUR“ is a unique and rich package with traditional values in which experienced chauffeur and tour guide Hari Vidović will introduce you in old fascioned way to the heritage of northern Istria. You will enjoy an adventurous ride with an attractive old timer, the Volkswagen Caravelle t3 van from 1986.

The adventure begins with your arrival in the area of the town of Buzet, known as the town of truffles. You board an attractive old-timer van/bus and you will set off for a TRUFFLE HUNTING in beautiful nature! You will meet truffle hunting dogs and you will go with them in search of those precious underground mushrooms / truffles. Toast with a traditional drink, enjoy the fresh air of the fairytale nature, hang out with the dogs and, with a little luck, find a real fresh truffle.

After the truffle hunt, you will head to the medieval town of Roč, which will enchant you with its beauty and rich history. Picturesque Roč was once the center of Croatian literacy, publishing and printing based on the oldest Slavic script, Glagolitic. In the guided tour, you will get to know the Roman lapidary, the old medieval city center, the big and small city gates, the viewpoint and other attractive cultural sights such as colorful frescoes and Glagolitic graffiti in the church of St. Roch from the 14th and 15th centuries and the famous Glagolitic alphabet from the 12th century in the church of St. Anton.

With another welcome drink, you will visit the artist's studio Freska-Vidović, where you will get to know the technique of creating a medieval fresco, which is a painter's technique of painting on fresh plaster. If you wish, you will be able to draw a brush stroke with natural pigments on the smoothed lime surface.

You will visit the glagolitic printing house, where there is a replica of Gutenberg's printing press, which was used to print the first Croatian book in the 15th century.

This is followed by a rich lunch in the romantic atmosphere of the local Ročka or Humska konoba/ tavern with traditional cuisine and autochthonous dishes.

After a short break, we head to Glagolitic Alley, a unique memorial complex of eleven memorials to Glagolitic and Glagolitic people, built along the road between Roč and Hum. At the Istrian property delimitation, we will get out of the vehicle to get to know the 7th memorial better.

Upon arrival in Hum, known as the smallest town in the world and the city of bisque, you will tour the old city center, learn about interesting things and traditions such as the election of the prefect for one year, etc.

You will visit the "Museum of Hum Aura", which shows the customs and crafts of northern Istria through eleven ethnographic collections with as many as 1,500 exhibits. Of course, in Hum you will also taste Humska Biska, which is mistletoe brandy that has medicinal properties.
